I am now watching Soul Train Award 2010 featuring Anita Baker, one of my fav, as a legendary artist on BET channel. It was about 14 years ago, I went to her concert in Chicago and had a good time, good memory….

End of Nov. kicking my butt / 月末の追い込み
It is almost end of November. I started EASY jogging today thinking 5 to 8 Km distance to reach as close as 200Km which is my target distance for running ( I usually set up both time and distance target ). However I pushed distance up to 21km (Half marathon) to get remaining distance within reachable in two days. As far as swim goes, 10Km is my target and so far 8.2Km which is also doable in one time. I am going to kick my butt to get two down of my monthly target. Forget about “Bike” this month as it is still far below from target ….
月末です、今月はBikeの距離が全く積めてませんので、目標達成は諦め、RunとSwimだけもなんとか達成すべくトレーニングの追い込み中。

Disappointed Obama/オバマ大統領にはガッカリ
disappointed Barack Obama…President of United States. I am not talking about his political efforts nor recent result of midterm election….. On November 14th, he was in Japan to participate APEC and visited Kamakura where he visited with his family when he was small. I was really hoping that he would have a courtesy visit to Obama City in Fukui pref and enjoy Saba-sushi instead of Macha ice cream. By the way, I never seen so many black Surbarban in Japan in my life even I used to drive it here….
少し前の話ですが、オバマ大統領がAPECで訪日した際に、鎌倉で抹茶アイスクリームを食べるくらいなら、福井県の小浜市に表敬訪問してほしかったと少しガッカリしています。まあ、警備や、スケジュールの面からも適当な訪問先だったんでしょう。
Oudon Matrix Century / 紅葉と手打ちうどんを求めて
“Oudon Matrix Century” is the bike route that Jimmy san named. It starts from Oudon “, best Japanese Sanuki Udon in Orange County, and come back same place passing through Santa Ana River Trail, Santiago Canyon Rd and Irvine, PCH which ends up about 100Km in total. Below video shows 40 miles Loop route including Santiago Canyon rd. and Irvine which is shorter ( smaller ) version.
本日はJimmyさんとご一緒ライド。Jimmyさんによって、”おうどんメトリックセンチュリー”と名付けられたルートはSanta Ana River Trail、Santiago Canyon Rdを経由し、アーバイン市内、PCHを一周し、出発地点のOudonに戻る合計100Km。本日朝7時の気温は4℃で自宅出発時は完全防寒でしたが、Santiago Canyon Rd（約30Km地点）に達した時点で、汗ばんだアンダーシャツを脱いで、坂道開始。この辺りから風景が一変するので、紅葉を期待していたのですが、落葉樹がなく、あまり季節感を感じることもなく、二人で、必死で坂を攻めます。サンクスギビングの翌日で休みの会社も多いということで、アーバイン市内は車も少なく、巡航速度も落とすことなく100Kmを終了。紅葉は期待していた程ではありませんでしたが、Oudonはいつも通り、まぎれもなく最高の手打ちうどん、腹ペコのサイクリストも満腹、大満足です。

今年のサンクスギビングは娘がお友だちの家族との旅行にご一緒させて頂くということで、私は自宅にて特に予定もイベントも無く、、、午前中にRun のトレーニングを終え、昼からはず～と、テレビでCake Boss観てました、、、、、
No party, No friends…. It is my very first ThanksGiving spending myself….. watching the TV ( Cass Boss Marathon on TLC ) after half marathon distance run.
LA Marathon 3.20.2011
LA Marathon is the only full marathon experience in my life….. Year 2008 was my first challenge . My legs died at 21 mile and could not run at last couple of miles. At year 2009, I could somehow manage my first sub 4 which was very enjoyable memory…. This year 2010, I did not participate it as I prefered to focus on Ironman Oceanside which was just one week after the LA Marathon. Now I am wondering if I can ( or should ) try LA Marathon again next year….. even 2 weeks later I have an Ironman Oceanside again….

It’s been about one week since new blog started, as you may notice, it is now multi language post. Many friends come from facebook and some of them are Non-Japanese speaking which means I have to communicate in English ( or more over in Spanish ….) Even wordpress.com has great detail of traffic analyze tool, it does not tell me who they are. So taking this opportunity, I would like to ask your input for reader survey.

Una semana desde el nuevo blog comenzó. Muchos amigos vienen desde facebook y algunos de ellos no hablan japonés que significa tengo que comunicarnos en Inglés y Español. WordPress.com tiene grandes detalles de analizar el tráfico de herramientas, que no me dice lo que son. Rainy day training menu/3本ローラーの上にも3年、、、
As I do not have any fitness club membership nor treadmill, room runner type of machine… If it rains, I have no option to do any run training. (Unless running in the rain as I did today….) However as far as the bike is concerned, I have been using a “Roller” which is the best value buy for me. It was around $150 at Performance bicycle and it has been running more than 3 years without any trouble. As you may already know that a Roller has a lot of benefit to improve your bike skills ……Only problem for me is hurting my sensitive body part because I can not change my saddle position during pedaling. (In case, you don’t know how a roller works, it requires you to keep pedaling otherwise you will fall down….) However finally today, (after 3 years training… ?) I can start “Dancing” on the roller which drastically helps me to decrease the pressure……..
I am not sure if I can do such tricks in the video near future…..
3本ローラーがどれだけ役立ってくれているかにつきましては何度も過去ブログにてご説明いたしましたが、本日、３本ローラー上で”ダンシング”ができるようになりました。（お恥ずかしいですが、3年かかりました、、、）これでお尻の痛みから解放され、更に長時間のトレーニングが可能となります。

Triathlete ManagizeやInside Triathlonを発行しているCompetitor.com社主催により毎年1月にEudurance Sports Awardが開催されます。今年はTri Expoとして各社ブースを構え、一般公開されましたが、来年もEudurance LIVEとしてサンディエゴのコンベンションセンターで開催が発表されました。初めてのコンベンションセンターでの開催（？）ということで、規模が拡大されると期待が膨らみます。

At HSS (Huntington Surf and Sports ) store wall, there is a huge picture of Andy Irons (3 times ASP World champion Professional surfer ) who died on November 2 2010 at age 32.
ハンティントンビーチのHSS(Huntington Surf and Sports)店頭でのアンディアイアンズ（プロサーファー）の死を追悼する写真です。32歳という若さでの死亡、原因は未だ不明。
Met with MACCA/会ってきましたクリスマコーマック
いまだ昨夜の興奮から覚めません、、、会ってきましたアイアンマンチャンピオン、MACCAことクリスマコーマック。敢えて”会って”きましたという言葉を使わせて頂きます。会場はVelocity Spors Performance Centerというトレーニング施設。300～500人位は集まるのかと思っていたところ、100人を少し越える程度の少人数で、スポンサー（主催）のTriathlon LABの社長が自ら音響（PA)担当という、超家庭的な雰囲気。私は事前に参加申し込みをしていたので、待たされることは無かったのですが、当日申し込み対応と、ラッフルチケット販売の為、15分程遅れて開始。Ironman レジェンドで、今ではしゃべりが本業でもあるBob BabbittとLA Talk Radioでトライアスロン担当をしているSimon GowenがダブルMC。Bobの紹介でChris登壇の際には、全員がスタンディングオベーション、最前列に陣取った私はこの時点で鳥肌、涙腺共に危険レベルまで達してしまいました。恐らく、彼の意識の中には、参加費（彼の基金向けの募金）を払った聴衆というよりも、スターバックスコーヒーで一緒に話している友だち感覚で、彼のトライアスリートとしてのキャリアー（経歴）や、何故オーストラリア勢が強いのか、最近のヨーロッパ勢の台頭、ノーマンスタッドラーとの確執の裏話などなど、笑いを交えながら2時間近く、喋りまくりました。最後にQ&Aということで、質問を受け付けたのですが、これが更にお友だち感覚が出たところですが、まず最初に質問した人は前にもクリスに会ったことがあるという前置きで、質問を始めたところ、”お～、自分、覚えてんで～（関西弁ではなく、オーストラリア英語ですので、、念の為” の一言、また、次の人は、”私は先月のアイアンマンハワイを7歳の息子と一緒に見に行きました、トランジッションエリアの前で、皆に手を振って応援する7歳の息子に唯一ハングルーズで応えてくれたプロアスリートはあなただけでした、その時に私達は、あなたがレースに勝つことを確信したんですよ、”と賞賛しまくり。まだまだ質問したかった人も多かった様ですが、予定の9時になってしまってましたので、これで終わりかと思うと、さて次はサイン会と写真撮影ですとのこと、、、一人ひとり握手、サイン、写真を参加者全員と、、、
（親しく話を聞かせてもらったといっても彼の放つオーラーで緊張のあまり、顔が引き攣って不自然な笑い顔になってます。）
その後も、彼をスポンサーしている各社から提供された商品のラッフルです、Chrisと一緒に自転車に乗るというのもあったのですが、スペシャライズドのTTヘルメットを狙い、見事にハズレ、、、しかし、出費した金額は全て募金となり、また、それ以上に、こんなに身近にトライアスロンのトッププロと”お会い”できる機会を設けて頂いたTriathlon LABとクリスマコーミックに改めて感謝します。 (追加の写真は右のFlickrにてお楽しみ下さい。）

As you can tell from above long Japanese sentences and one great picture, I am still so excited about Meeting with MACCA Event last night, 2 times Ironman Hawaii champion Chris “MACCA” McCormack is such a nice guy. His talk did not stop almost 2 hours and it covered his carrier, behind the sence of Norman war, strong new commers from Europe as well as why Australians are strong…Moreover, we had an autograph + photo session with Chris ( So awesome !! ) and raffle prize. I really thank Chris and Triathlon LAB for such a great opportunity for me, one of age grouper, to meet very “friendly ” Top Triathlete in the world. ( More pictures in Flickr on right side )

Christmas tree /クリスマスツリーお買い上げ
Last couple of years, my daughter wanted a “Christmas tree”. One of her reasons ( or should say complains ) was that she was taller than christmas tree.
As I did not want to disappoint her this year again, we went to Target and purchased 7 ft one which we both agreed that she would not grow up higher than that. ( she is currently 5′ 2″ ) Will upload the picture once we decorate it after Thanks Giving….hoping Merry and Happy christmas with new tree.
娘とクリスマスツリーお買い上げ。ここ数年、娘から新しいのを買って欲しいという強い要望があったのですが、昨年ついに娘がクリスマスツリーよりも背が高くなったという事実を強く主張され、今年はせがまれる前にTargetへ、それ以上背が高くなることはないであろうということで、7フィートのツリーに決定。帰宅後、娘の身長を測ると161cmです。このペースで伸びるとクリスマスツリーを越える可能性も、、、、

New Design / 新装開店
As you notice, new pictures are uploaded into Blog. My photo stock is very limited and quality is not high ( as my photo shots were taken by iPhone 3G ) . But I would like to bring something new and fresh image so that you may like it. I am open to listen your opinion and comments. Thank you for your honest feedback in advance.
Como pueden notar, nuevas imágenes se cargan en el blog. Mi selection de foto es muy limitada y la calidad no es buena (como mis fotos fueron tomadas por el iPhone 3G). Pero me gustaría traer algo imagen nueva y fresca, para que le guste. Deseo escuchar sus opinión y comentarios. Muchas gracias !

New Blog / 引越ししました。
As Microsoft does not support Blog service any more, I have some option …Quit blogging, Change blog service provider, Write everything on facebook or upgrade ( as Microsoft indicate ) to WordPress.com….. I was almost making up my mind that I should only do facebook as I am currently using beginnertriathlete.com for training log purpose…
However I came up a second thought that if I continue blogging, it could help somehow to keep updating to my friends ( as facebook is not poplular in Japan yet….)
